Try to self parent, to self soothe and see how that goes!!! It's a great technique for being with self!!! Xxx
One parenting technique (albeit debatable as to whether it's 'good' or 'bad') is self soothing. It's allowing the baby to take care of and calm themselves down.
As adults this can be a really effective way of dealing with issues. Obviously it does take a good solid knowledge of well being and what good thoughts are in the first place but to be able to talk yourself down from a negative spot is a great tool to have in the box.
So what I've done is to consciously not have anything playing on the in the background- music, Abraham, Louise Hay or whatever, but instead I will sit with it and/or talk myself out of it. 'This will pass, things are going to be ok, I'm doing my best. Things are always working out for me.'
And so it trains you to be there for yourself, so when things flare up, you can be there for yourself and to relax and take a breath and chill out.
